As Markets Falter, BlackRock’s AUM Continues to Fall From Record Highs

BlackRock, Inc. (NYSE: BLK) reported financial results for the three and nine months ended September 30, 2022.

US$ 65 billion of quarterly long-term net inflows were driven by continued momentum in strategic ETFs and significant outsourcing mandates, with total net inflows of US$ 17 billion. There was also a 6% increase in technology services revenue year-over-year reflecting continued client demand for Aladdin. However, BlackRock’s AUM fell down to US$ 7,961,373,000 for the period ending September 30, 2022, a lower AUM amount from record highs.

There was a large amount of US$ 39.539 billion in cash management net outflows from the period, while the YTD 2022 amount is a net outflow of US$ 45 billion in that segment. BlackRock’s short-term cash management products had substantial outflows as clients took advantage of rising interest rates.
