Hedge Fund Titan Julian Robertson Dies at 90

Billionaire investor Julian H. Robertson Jr. died at his home in Manhattan from cardiac complications, said his spokesman, Fraser Seitel. He died at the age of 90.
Julian Robertson is the founder of Tiger Management Corporation. Robertson worked at broker Kidder, Peabody, & Co. before creating his hedge fund. Tiger Management was formed in 1980 and grew to oversee around US$ 22 billion in assets under management by the late 1990s. In 2000, Robertson closed the firm. Robertson also backed a number of hedge fund managers who were known as “Tiger Cubs”.
