Bill Gates’ BEV Backs Mangrove Lithium

Mangrove Lithium is a Vancouver-based lithium refiner. Mangrove Lithium raised US$ 10 million in Series A funding. Breakthrough Energy Ventures led, and was joined by existing investor BDC Capital’s Cleantech Practice, an investment unit of the Business Development Bank of Canada (BDC). Mangrove Lithium will use the investment to build its first operational, commercial-scale plant with the intention of expanding lithium refining capacity in the Western Hemisphere.M angrove has developed a feedstock-flexible, modular platform to produce battery-grade lithium hydroxide and lithium carbonate.
In 2020, Mangrove Lithium secured US$ 3 million in financing from BDC Capital’s Cleantech Practice.
In 2019, the Mangrove Team built a fully commercial scale demonstration system completed for testing.
