Pension Insurance Corporation is a Key Fund of Spanish Solar Projects by Q-Energy

Pension Insurance Corporation plc (PIC), a specialist insurer of defined benefit pension funds, keeps backing a number of bonds backed by solar parks that are owned by Q-Energy. Q-Energy is a European investor and asset manager in the renewable energy sector.
Date and Investment of Q Energy Solar Parks
June 14, 2021: PIC invested £175 million to fund solar energy for Q-Energy. The sum will be invested in a further 18 solar parks
December 2020: PIC provided £120 million of debt funding, as sole investor, for a further 12 solar parks. The solar parks are owned by Q-Energy.
June 11, 2020: PIC provided £277 million of debt funding, as sole investor, for eight solar parks located in Spain, owned by FSL, one of Q-Energy’s three renewable energy investment vehicles.
February 2020: This is debt investment of £190 million PIC made for 21 solar parks mainly located in Southern Spain, also owned by Q-Energy.
In 2003, Qualitas Venture Capital fund was created, with an initial capital commitment of 150 million euros. In 2006, Q-Energy was launched, dedicated to the investment in and management of renewable energy assets. In 2017 Qualitas Equity Partners has rebranded Qualitas Equity and all of the group’s investment activities have been organized in different business lines.
