Mubadala Likes Food Delivery Apps

Mubadala Investment Company likes grocery delivery companies and their apps. Mubadala recently participated in two investment rounds.
Getir is an Istanbul-based grocery delivery app. Getir raised US$ 550 million at a US$ 7.5 billion valuation from Silver Lake Partners, DisruptAD, Mubadala Investment Company, and insiders Tiger Global Management and Sequoia Capital. Getir launched in London and Amsterdam earlier in 2021. Nazim Salur is the founder of Getir.

Berlin-based Flink (Flink Food GmbH) is an on-demand grocery delivery startup. Flink raised US$ 240 million in Series A funding co-led by Prosus Ventures (formerly Naspers Ventures), BOND, and Mubadala Capital (part of Mubadala). Flink means “quick” in German. Flink is currently active in 24 cities across Germany, France, and the Netherlands. Oliver Merkel, Julian Dames, and Christoph Cordes founded the company. In addition to the fund raise, German supermarket giant REWE inked a strategic partnership with the company that will make Flink its preferred partner for smaller shopping grabs.
