Johnson and Johnson Manufacturing Error Impacts 15 Million COVID Doses

There was a manufacturing error at the Emergent BioSolutions Inc. production facility in Baltimore which is a key part involved in the COVID-19 vaccine for Johnson & Johnson’s vaccine. This error impacted 15 million doses worth of an ingredient for Johnson & Johnson’s vaccine. Employees at Emergent BioSolutions reportedly mixed-up two vaccine dosages.
In a statement, Johnson & Johnson said a batch of drug substance failed its quality test. Johnson & Johnson addressed the issue with Emergent and reported it to the Food and Drug Administration.
