Taiwan Central Bank’s Foreign Reserves Increased in October from Previous Month

The Central Bank of the Republic of China (Taiwan) released its foreign exchange totals at the end of October 2020. The reserves totaled US$ 501.24 billion, showing an increase of US$ 1.64 billion from the figure recorded at the end of the previous month. The central banks states that the main factor responsible for the increase in the foreign exchange reserves in October 2020 was returns from foreign exchange reserves management.
The market value of securities investment and the New Taiwan dollar deposits held by foreign portfolio investors at the end of October 2020 reached US$ 496.5 billion, equivalent to 99% of foreign exchange reserves.
