Posted on 10/28/2020

French President Emmanuel Macron announced a new nationwide lockdown to stem a surge in coronavirus patients in French hospitals. Macron beieves the second wave of the coronavirus is “likely to be deadlier than the first”.

President Macron said the country-wide lockdown will be enforced initially until December 1, 2020. Part of the lock down includes forcing people have to stay in their homes except to buy essential goods, seek medical attention, or use their daily one-hour allocation of exercise. Cafes, restaurants and shops will shut down unless they are deemed to be selling essential goods, such as supermarkets and pharmacies.

Anyone outside their home will need to carry a written statement justifying their presence outside. Last, people will still be permitted to go to work if their employer deems it impossible to work from home.
