GE Gets Wells Notice from SEC Linked to Accounting Investigation

The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) issued a Wells Notice to General Electric Co. (GE). The SEC could be recommending a civil action for violating securities laws.
GE has been accused from investigator Harry Markopolos in 2019 about hiding massive losses. Harry Markopolos investigation targeted GE Capital. Harry Markopolos earned his fame for alerting regulators about Bernie Madoff.
