China’s National Health Commission raised the total number of cases to 63,581, as of the end of the previous day, marking an increase of 5,090. The official mainland China death toll is 1,380.

China’s National Health Commission said that 1,716 health workers had been infected by the virus and six had died as of February 11, 2020, including whistleblower Li Wenliang. Most of these health worker infection cases were in Wuhan, the epicenter of the outbreak.

The more concerning aspects of the novel coronavirus is that a person can transmit it to others while showing no symptoms. The CDC believes the virus will become a community virus at some point in time, this year or next year.
