Eileen Murray, a Co-CEO of Bridgewater Associates, will exit the firm in March 2020. This leaves David McCormick, a former U.S. Treasury official, as sole CEO of Bridgewater Associates after her exit. Since 2017, McCormick and Murray were in charge of the firm.

Eileen Murray held executive roles at Morgan Stanley and Credit Suisse First Boston.

Firm founder Ray Dalio ceded day-to-day management of Bridgewater Associates in 2011.

“These last ten years have been an extraordinary journey and I am very proud of all that we have accomplished,” said Eileen Murray, Co-CEO of Bridgewater in a press release. “With the firm’s management transition on solid footing, I feel now is a good time for me to leave Bridgewater to pursue other opportunities. I am extremely grateful for the many deep and meaningful relationships I have formed with those around me. Over the past ten years, I have been fortunate to share leadership roles at the firm with Ray, Greg and David. They have each been great partners and friends. The past few years as Co-CEO with David have been especially meaningful as we have been side-by-side working on the firm’s successful transition. He brings a unique blend of strategic and client-focused attributes, with a deep commitment to our people, diversity and inclusion efforts, and to the long-term success of Bridgewater.”
