iM Global Partner Buys Minority Stake in Scharf Investments

iM Global Partner disclosed it acquired a 40% stake in Scotts Valley, California-based Scharf Investments, LLC, an independently owned and employee-controlled U.S. equity value firm with US$ 3.4 billion AUM as of end of March 2019. iM Global Partner invests in money management firms. iM Global Partner has backed Polen Capital, Dolan McEniry Capital Management, Sirios Capital Management, and Dynamic Beta investments.
Scharf Investments was formed in 1983. In 2007, the company had under US$ 700 million in assets under management. Brian Krawez is the President of Scharf Investments. Before joining the money manager in 2007, he was a Partner at Belden and Associates Investment Counsel.
