SoftBank Drinks Lemonade, Leads Series D Round

Lemonade Inc. is an online an American property and casualty insurance company headquartered in New York City targeting homeowners and renters. The insurance company is called Lemonade Insurance Company. Lemonade raised US$ 300 million in a Series D round. This give Lemonade a post-money valuation upwards of US$ 2 billion. Lemonade was formed by Daniel Schreiber and Shai Wininger. Leading the Series D round is SoftBank Group Corporation. Other investors in the Series D round include Allianz, General Catalyst, GV (formerly Google Ventures), OurCrowd, and Thrive Capital.

Shai Wininger is a co-founder of Fiverr.

Lemonade underwrites its own policies and is reinsured at Lloyd’s of London. In 2017, Lemonade Insurance Company had US$ 17,617,744 in invested assets.
