QIA Invests $200 Million in Airtel Africa

The Qatar Investment Authority (QIA) is investing US$ 200 million through a primary equity issuance in Airtel Africa Ltd., a subsidiary of Bharti Airtel Ltd. The capital infusion will help reduce Airtel Africa’s current net debt.
The QIA investment follows an October 2018 US$ 1.25 billion investment in Airtel Africa that was led by Singapore’s Temasek Holdings, Warburg Pincus, Singtel, and SoftBank Group International, as well as others.
