Alexander Prout Leaves MSIM for Deutsche Asset Management
Alexander Prout was hired by Deutsche Asset Management to be head of Asia-Pacific region. He will start, effectively in November 2017. Previously, he was Chief Operating Officer for Global Sales and Distribution at Morgan Stanley Investment Management in New York.
Lawrence Kochard Hired on as CIO of Makena Capital Management
Lawrence Kochard was hired on as Chief Investment Officer of Makena Capital Management. Kochard is leaving his role as Chief Investment Officer and CEO of the University of Virginia Investment Management Company, which is based in Charlottesville.
Durbin Promoted to President at Fidelity Institutional
Michael R. Durbin was promoted to President of Fidelity Institutional, taking over Jeffrey P. Lagarce’s position. Before this role, he was Head of Fidelity Institutional’s product and technology platform. Durbin joined Fidelity Investments in 2009.
Jeffrey P. Lagarce will move to a senior advisor role at the firm. Durbin will report to Abigail P. Johnson, Chairman and CEO of Fidelity Investments, and join the firm’s operating committee.
Keishi Yamamoto Named President of NTAM Japan
Keishi Yamamoto was hired by Northern Trust Asset Management to be president and representative director of the company’s asset management business in Japan. Yamamoto will be based in Tokyo. He replaces Hidehiro Nakayama who will continue to serve as chairman and director of the Japan asset management unit until the end of the year. Previously, Yamamoto was Head of the Japan Pension Group at Wellington Management.
KIC Executive Takes Rockspring Client Service Role
Suengtak Lee exited the Korea Investment Corporation (KIC) to join London-based Rockspring Property Investment Managers. Lee will be Head of Firm Sales and Client Services for Northeast Asia for Rockspring. Lee replaces Jooyoun Cho.
