Korea’s National Pension Service (NPS) has had a profitable few months as it recently bought Coinbase at US$ 70 per share, and watched the platform rocket to nearly double its price. It also bought a stake in real estate investor Stockbridge based in San Francisco. NPS made room in its investment portfolio recently by lowering its LG stake to 7.47%, PI Advanced Materials, Hanmi Semiconductor, YG Entertainment, and SBS Media Holdings. However, hometown hero Samsung is seeing interest.
NPS increased its position in a Samsung affiliate to over 10%. Samsung Electro-Mechanics is a multinational electronic component company headquartered in Suwon, Gyeonggi-do, South Korea. It is a subsidiary of the Samsung Group. NPS now has over 1 trillion South Korean won invested in the company.
